Your Ceremony

A perfect union deserves a perfect location

It’s the reason you’re here, the moment you will remember forever! We have the Ballroom, a perfectly private and beautiful space for your ceremony. Dressed in vintage Victorian era decoration, its light filled, with crystal chandeliers and gleaming gold leaf in the hand-painted ceiling – the room radiates warmth and joy (and in the comfort of air-conditioning). Feel the true sense of occasion for this most intimate part of the day, it’s completely ready with red carpet, signing table and seating for up to 100 people or space for up to 150 people standing.

We also offer ceremony options in our other spaces for a more informal feel. We just love the garden setting of the Conservatory for an outdoorsy feel but inside, ideal for any time of the year if you have it booked for your reception.

We are too lucky to have the Adelaide Botanic Gardens as a neighbour across the road (within 50 meters) with numerous beautiful sites for garden ceremonies, and also many churches close by in the ‘city of churches’.

Photo Scenes

You are spoilt for choice for photo opportunities here at the House and within walking distance; after the ceremony, the party can spill out onto the front lawns with the pretty gardens and House as the perfect backdrop. For lovers of nature there is the Adelaide Botanic Gardens and ‘East End’ parklands (50 meters!) – think flowers, tall trees and open greens, for historical buildings Adelaide Uni , the State Library/Museum are on the next block, and for city scapes and rustic stone walls the east end location is perfect for you too. For an inside space Adelaide Arcade, a stunning Victorian building, is just a couple of minutes’ drive away as is the River Torrens.

Sync With Your Reception

Be different and spend the day together, have your photographer capture all your joy and smiles of your wedding day before a twilight ceremony with the party starting immediately after...no waiting in between! Or be customary and have that ‘dream’ moment when you first lay eyes upon each other as you walk down the aisle, followed by photos; there are plenty of things for guests to do in between, with many local drinking/cafe? spots or ask us about having the bar open here for guests. These decisions are made early on and set the feel of your day and reflect you as a couple, it’s important it's right for you.
